Ceremony Music

More couples today are preferring recorded music versus live for their ceremony because of the great dynamic range and crystal clear sound of today's pro sound equipment and the high quality of today's music recordings. This way couples can more personalize their ceremony by having the original song performed by the original artist. I will perfectly customize your ceremony music to your personal taste.

How To Select Your Ceremony Music

If you would like to research some ideas you can take a look at music on itunes or Amazon's (mp3 Downloads page) by searching with the words Wedding Ceremony, or I can send you an email that has music imbedded in it that you can listen to. Another option is to let me use my experience on what ceremonial music to play with you providing a little input on style that you would prefer.

What Time The Music Should Start

It's not mandatory, but it's a good idea to start the music a half hour before the time on your invitation, since some guest will arrive up to a half hour before the stated start time on your invitations. This gives your ceremony area a more eventful feel when guests arrive and wait. This way the pre-ceremony music will set the feeling that your guests are in fact arriving to a special event.

Music Layered On Top Of The Progression

Using visual queues, I play the songs according to who I see coming in at each stage of the ceremony. Nobody has to think about the music that day, since the music is being layered on top of the progression of your wedding ceremony.

If one of the stages in your ceremony is delayed or takes longer than expected it won't become a problem, since I can seamlessly loop a song back into itself again to lengthen the it if more time is needed. Additionally, a song can be softly faded out if I see a song it too long for a particular stage.

Ceremony Wireless Mic Bodypack SpeakerSystem

Having the voices of those in your ceremony heard will greatly enhance the overall experience of your ceremony for your guests and add to their enjoyment by being able to hear the words spoken. This is especially needed if your ceremony is in a place where environmental noises might obstruct guests from hearing.

If you request this service, a very small wireless microphone is clipped on your officiatorÂ’s jacket or robe with the battery transmitter clipped on their waistband or put in their pocket out of sight. The microphone will pick up in a three foot radius and will pick up your officiatorÂ’s voice as well as your vows if standing within this range. Also available upon request is a wireless hand held microphone on a stand for ceremonial readings or singing.

Special Equipment For Ceremonies

This system includes speakers, speaker stands, a mixer, an amplifier, an equipment stand, a computer, and other necessary equipment and cables.  However, I keep the sound system very compact, tidy and clean looking. Ceremonies entail setup, breakdown, finding onsite electrical power, running power and speaker cables, testing, and attendance and operation of the system during ceremony to adjust volume for emphasizing the progressive stages and compensate for environmental noise.

Unlike other disc jockeys, my ceremony system speakers are smaller compared to the reception speakers for a more appropriate and tasteful look for your ceremony. However, the sound is crisp, full, rich and live like even with using these smaller speakers systems.

Where I Set Up At The Ceremony Site

I set up the sound system and the speakers to the side or partially behind the guests so that the equipment doesn't disrupt the view for the guests or end up in ceremony photos. Nearly all other DJs set their speakers on each side of the couple and obstruct the view of guests and can end up in ceremony photos.

Be certain to make sure there is electrical power available at the ceremony site for me to plug into and that someone is available that day that can help if I arrive and the power supply at the ceremony site is not outputting power for some reason. Additionally if outside, shade is necessary in order to see the computer screen.
